Stretching 77 kilometers across western Hungary, Lake Balaton offers dramatically different experiences depending on which shore you visit. The southern side has shallow, family-friendly waters and lively beach towns. The northern shore hides wine villages, hiking trails, and the kind of quiet beauty that makes you forget you are only ninety minutes from Budapest.
